Tren Griffin is a Senior Director at Microsoft, doing strategy, competitive analysis and business development, with a focus on software platforms and business models. He creates and helps execute "go to market" plans, working closely with the engineering and marketing teams. Before that, he was a partner at Eagle River, a private equity firm controlled by Craig McCaw with investments in software, communications and other technology industries including Nextel, Nextel Partners and many start-up firms. The book presents the essential steps of Munger's investing strategy, condensed from interviews, speeches, writings, and shareholder letters, and paired with commentary from fund managers, value investors, and business-case historians. Derived from Ben Graham’s value-investing system, Munger’s approach is straightforward enough that even novices can apply it to their portfolios. Not simply about stock picking, it's about cultivating mental models for your whole life, but especially for your investments.
